Explanation of why our ancestors packed their bags and headed not only to America, but other points west.  What did they experience on the sailing ships coming over and how readily were they accepted when they arrived.  This also covers their assimilation into life here in America.

Jerry Paulson has spent twenty years teaching genealogy at Madison Area Technical College and is now working as a researcher at Norwegian American Genealogical Center and Naeseth Library in Madison WI.  Jerry is a native of Madison and his personal research and travels include Germany, Norway and Ireland.  A popular speaker, on numerous topics, Jerry is a member of Dane County Area Genealogy Society and Wisconsin State Genealogical Society and various other ethnic groups (especially Norwegian).
